YACHAD

which means "together" in Hebrew, is the Jewish Community Center's special services for persons who have developmental disabilities. Staffed by trained volunteers under professional supervision, YACHAD cares for the social, physical, emotional and spiritual wellness of Jewish persons with disabilities such as mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy and others which affect the way a person grows and/or learns.

Volunteers are always needed to serve as friends.

Yachad Happenings ...

Would you like to spend the evening in the park, listening to cool music? Chaverim will attend a free concert on August 12, from 6:30-8:00 pm, at the Buckland Park Pavilion. This will be the last 2008 Sunset Serenades Concert with the "Traveling Cabaret" entertaining with song, dance, and comedy. Please join us.

Traveling the routes of our early settlers, the Mary Jemison boat ride offers a leisurely adventure while cruising our historic waterways. The Mary Jemison offers breathtaking views of the city landscape and skyline while cruising the Genesee River. Chug will cruise on the Mary Jemison on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 2-3:30 pm. There is a fee. Don't miss out on this exciting adventure!

If you would like more information, call Ann Gilbert-Winterman at (585)461.2000, ext. 259.

Yachad is funded by The Beverly and Sam Kolko Fund for Special Needs.
