Work Permits

The Jewish Community Center is required to obtain a work permit from all employees under age 18 BEFORE THEY MAY BEGIN WORK. Generally, work permits are issued at the school the minor is attending. If you are under age 18 and do not currently have a work permit, please contact your school.

Notice to All Applicants

All offers of employment with the Jewish Community Center are contingent upon receiving acceptable references and the candidate passing a background check and/or receiving a clearance from the State Central Register to determine if they are the subject of an indicated child abuse or maltreatment report, as pursuant to section 424-a of the Social Services Law.

Applicants are considered for all positions without regard to any protected category. In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at the JCC will be based on merit, qualifications and abilities. In addition, to the aforementioned bases, marital status, sexual orientation and gender expression, arrest and convictions records, genetic predisposition and carrier status, political activities, beliefs or affiliations and certain legal activities conducted outside of work hours are protested bases in New York State.
