SELF-ASSESSMENT HEALTH SCREENING

We ask that all members conduct a health self-assessment before you enter the building.
These questions will be posted outside our building for reference. You will also need to have your temperature taken with a touchless scanner.

  1. Have you had a positive COVID-19 diagnostic test in the past 14 days?
  2. Have you had close contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days?
  3. Have you experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, headache or new loss of taste or smell?
  4. Have you traveled outside NYS for more than 24 hours to a known area of significant
community spread or a restricted location in the last 14 days?

You will be asked to verify that you answered 'NO' to all the questions when you scan in at the Member Services desk.

If you have traveled from one of the restricted states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories, for more than 24 hours, you are subject to the 14-day mandatory quarantine unless you satisfy a two-step negative test procedure. The “test-out” procedure provides that travelers must be tested for COVID-19 in the three days immediately preceding their entry into New York. Upon arrival in New York, those travelers must quarantine for three days. On the fourth day, they must be tested again. If the results of both tests are negative, the traveler is released from quarantine. If you are released from quarantine, you may visit our facility. If the second test is positive, the traveler will be subject to the New York rules regarding isolation.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Staff and all members over the age of two are required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose at all times, including during your workout
  • NYS has ruled that gaiters, bandanas and buffs are not acceptable face coverings.
  • If you can’t wear a mask because of a medical condition, you must wear a face shield.
  • We have implemented social or physical distancing practices in all open areas by limiting capacity to 33%.
  • Traffic patterns have been reconfigured and we have rearranged equipment to help ensure social distancing.
  • Guest Passes will not be permitted at this time.
  • Children 9 – 12 years old must be with a parent and/or guardian adjacent at all times.
  • Children that are 13+ are free to use the fitness center without a parent or guardian.
  • Stay 6' away from others whenever possible.
  • Staff will be placed throughout the Champion Fitness Center to monitor and enforce all social distancing protocols and policies.
  • Please limit your use of a cardio machine to 45 minutes and limit your total visit time to 90 minutes to ensure that other members can work out during this time with limited capacity.
  • All non-bottle water filling drinking fountains will be out of use. Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Please bring your own mats
  • All HVAC systems will be upgraded to have air filtration systems at the highest rating available compatible with our system, but no less than a MERV-11.
  • Members will be asked to use provided cleaning supplies to clean equipment before and after their workout

HOW WE CAN KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE

Our reopening can and will be successful as long as we keep each other’s safety in mind. We are asking all members to help keep others healthy by following the rules below:

  • Areas have been redesigned for social distancing. Markers on the floor and signs throughout the building are in place to make maintaining social distancing easy. Please take a moment to read and then follow.
  • We have increased the number of hand sanitizer and cleaning stations to allow for easy hand hygiene
    and equipment cleaning.
  • Clean your hands when you come in, during your workout and as you are leaving.
  • Stay home if you are sick or if a family member is sick.
  • Avoid lingering/socializing to allow other members to work out.
  • Try to reduce touchpoints.
  • Wipe down each piece of equipment you use before and after use and dispose of the used cleaning supplies properly.
  • Maintain appropriate social and physical distance from other members and employees when walking throughout the gyms to the best extent possible.

CLEANING PROCEDURES

  • The facility will be entirely cleaned and disinfected prior to opening and after closing each day. This includes a daily deep cleaning.
  • Enhanced cleaning protocol will focus on high-traffic, high-touch common areas.
  • All equipment will be cleaned throughout the day.

EXPOSURE TO COVID-19

We will follow CDC guidelines for handling any suspected exposure within the JCC. This includes coordinating with the health authorities to report the potential exposure, notifying members and staff that may have had contact and deep cleaning the facility. It will also include quarantining employees that have had prolonged contact with the infected individual.
