Jewish Life at the JCC

The Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester prides itself on our deep commitment to Jewish values, culture, and traditions. We offer diverse programs open to all, partner with broader community organizations, and play an essential role as a portal of entry into Jewish life in the Rochester region.

Babies to Bubbies

The JCC provides a variety of Jewish programs, services, and enrichment opportunities to all members across generations. To learn more about upcoming and ongoing offerings, please visit our Adult Enrichment and Youth and Families pages.

“Just as my ancestors planted trees for me, I plant trees for my children.”

- Babylonian Talmud, Honi the Circle Maker

Celebrating Jewish Culture Year Round

With holiday celebrations and activities, as well as programs and classes that explore Jewish traditions, values, culture, and heritage, the JCC is a vibrant center of Jewish living. Our Lane Dworkin Rochester Jewish Book Festival and Ames Amzalak Rochester Jewish Film Festival are dynamic highlights of the year, while CenterStage's full year of professional theatre offerings invite all to explore relevant Jewish themes through an artistic lens.

The JCC’s Yiddish Culture Center is one of the only remaining Yiddish programs in the nation, and our Holocaust Memorial Courtyard and Garden honors the lives of those lost in the Holocaust, as well as the lives and legacies of Survivors here in our own community.

“If I try to be like him, who will be like me?”

- Yiddish proverb

The World Beyond Our Doors

The JCC is proud to serve as a gateway into the Jewish world, locally and beyond. We are a source of connections to area synagogues and agencies, kosher food options, traditional and experiential Jewish learning, holiday celebrations, and more. Learn more about the Jewish Year here.

Through valued community partnerships we are home to a full series of Israel-related speakers and events, including an annual community Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) celebration and travel opportunities.
