The Wolk Children's Center
Wonder, Play, Create, Learn
The JCC Wolk Children’s Center is the only Early Childhood community that instills the skills of collaboration, community, critical thinking, and creativity by creating an environment that understands children are constructivist learners. Qualified staff and ongoing professional development coupled with our key elements of early education and Jewish values, help us prepare children and families for the world we live in.
We give kids what they need to be remarkable.

What makes our program different?
Key Elements in Successful Early Education

1. Children as Constructivist Learners
2. Early Childhood Directors as Visionaries
3. Early Childhood Educators as Professionals
4. Families as Engaged Partners
5. Environments as Inspiration for Inquiry
6. Discover CATCH (taking care of our bodies)
7. Israel as the Story of the Jewish People
What Does 'Children as a Constructivist Learner' Mean?
We believe that children construct knowledge rather than just passively take in information. As children experience the world and reflect upon those experiences, they build their own representations and incorporate new information into their pre-existing knowledge.

School Day at the J
We know how hard it is to teach school in addition to everything else that you have to get done.
The JCC is here to help your family with the challenge of hybrid learning this school year. Remote learning can be stressful for both students and families. We can help.
We also offer before and after care.
Rochester Regional Telehealth for K–12

The JCC has partnered with Rochester Regional Health to bring Telehealth to our campus. Available to all children enrolled with us, telehealth offers a convenient way to address urgent healthcare needs remotely and conveniently for everyone aged 6 months to18 years old.
Telehealth visits can be scheduled virtually through videoconference between the hours of 10am – 6pm when you child is here.
No more rushing to bring your child to the doctor’s office or to an urgent care facility.
Common reasons for visits include such things as: cold/regular flu, cuts, ear pain, fever, insect bites and allergic reactions.
Service is billed through your insurance company, typically as an office visit.
There is no cost to sign up – just complete some simple paperwork and you and your child are ready to take advantage of this convenient collaboration.
