Menachem Kaiser

Plunder:
A Memoir of Family Property and Nazi Treasure
(HMH Books, 2021)

Menachem Kaiser’s brilliantly told story is woven from improbable and profound revelations. Set in motion when the author takes up his Holocaust-survivor grandfather’s former battle to reclaim his family’s apartment building in Poland, Kaiser tells of his astonishing entanglement with Nazi treasure hunters. Kaiser holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan and was the Fullbright Fellow to Lithuania.
