The event, located at the JCC, will feature entertainment including puppets, crafts, characters, AND participants will receive a free certificate for one future TYKEs show!

December 4–19, 2021
Created exclusively for JCC CenterStage by Walt Disney World Creative Director (and Rochester native) Tom Vazzana, this once-in-a-lifetime theatrical event features some of Rochester’s top talent singing songs from your favorite Disney films. A show for all ages.

The Sharing Stone
January 8–16, 2022

A brand new original TYKEs production based on the legendary fable Stone Soup. In this witty and comical musical, Gertie the wise old mouse comes to the forest in search of a meal, seeking out the generosity of strangers. With the help of some quirky, charismatic forest animals, Gertie eventually manages to create The Best Soup Known to Animal Kind.

Once again, TYKEs welcomes an incredible concept in children’s theatre—a full-scale musical with sets, costumes, make-up and props, starring 60 local kids—all created within a week. Kids can enjoy the show in two ways: by watching it—or starring in it! Budding thespians, ages five and up, rehearse Monday through Friday and perform the show that Saturday.

Young CJ is reluctantly visiting his force-of-nature Nana in a world considerably different from the one he’s used to. After an eye-opening bus ride, CJ travels a little closer to his roots and learns that things are not always what they seem. A hip-hoppin’, heart-thumpin’, toe-tappin’ musical joy ride about building community and finding beauty in everyday city life.

Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester commissioned this new play to put a human face on this important time in history. A cautionary tale on the risks of normalized hate, this inspirational and uplifting play ensures that the voices of our Survivors will never be silenced.
