Monkey House is an intricate thriller that gradually reveals a complex con game concocted by an Israeli novelist and the woman writing his biography. Things get more complicated when an ambitious filmmaker discovers the scheme and makes a movie about it. At the center of it all is a very moving love story. Entertaining and thought provoking, this is the latest film from Avi Nesher, one of Israel’s most internationally acclaimed filmmakers, whose films have played at previous RJFFs.
