Simone Veil, A Woman of the Century
OPENING NIGHT
Sunday, July 30, 6:30pm; Dryden Theatre
Narrative | 2022 | 140 min. | French (w/ subtitles)
France | Director: Olivier Dahan
Both intimate and monumental, Simone Veil, A Woman of the Century celebrates the extraordinary life of one of the century’s greatest heroines. Her history as a Holocaust Survivor fueled her lifelong campaign for human rights—and against any form of injustice. To push her agenda, Veil entered French politics and rose to become a magistrate, the French Minister of Health, and eventually President of the European Parliament. Yet she still made room for a life-long love affair with her husband and children. Starring two magnificent actresses (Elsa Zylberstein and Rebecca Marder) as Simone at different ages, Simone Veil presents a singular woman who dared to challenge the world to become a better, more humane place.
