What the Constitution Means to Me

October 9–20, 2024

An Area Premiere Play by Heidi Schreck
Directed by Skip Greer

Heidi Schreck’s ground-breaking, humorous and hopeful Broadway hit, breathes new life into our U.S. Constitution as it looks at today’s Constitutional conversations from a very human perspective.

An adult woman resurrects her teenage self who earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. She reflects on the impact of the founding document’s effect on her ancestors, then she goes head-to-head with an actual teenager to debate the value of the constitution today.

Winner of the Obie Award and several other Best New Play awards, this unique theatrical event was also a Tony Award Nominee and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
