Canalside Community
Why are we creating a community campus at 1200 Edgewood?
Our current physical space is simply more than member dues and contributions can sustain. By transforming the campus, we are taking important steps toward securing a fiscally secure future for the JCC. We recognize that new partners can offer exciting programming to draw more people to our campus.
The JCC will continue to deliver on its primary programs – child care, Jewish arts and culture, camp and wellness – albeit in a smaller footprint within our building.
1200 Edgewood will become a community campus, creating around the JCC a hub for culture, enrichment and wellness for every stage of life. The current working name for this concept is Canalside Community.
Concept + Vision
Imagine if there was a place that could solve the challenge that every family has; the challenge to find the best place and space to advance knowledge and skills to grow and thrive. From a toddler singing their first song with friends to a teen learning about wellness practices to an adult participating in a painting class, everyone will be able to find new activities, enrichment offerings and places to gather as a community.Â
Joining a thriving Jewish Community Center on the campus, the center will be the hub for culture, education, and overall wellness. Featuring recreation, arts, academics, and music, this will be a community for people of all ages to enrich their lives and grow together.
