Shalom Gottlieb, a former partisan leader and current factory foreman, falls for Eva and begins an affair. But rumors of Eva’s past as a Kapo during the Holocaust shake the community, leading to mutual accusations and revealing painful truths. Shalom must choose between his feelings for Eva and his duty to his family and former comrades in arms.
