Joyful, inspiring, and utterly irresistible, Welcome to Yiddishland takes us from New York to Berlin to Haifa to Melbourne. Using interviews, rehearsal footage, and excerpts from sold-out shows, it explores the unexpected worldwide rebirth of Yiddish literature, music, and performance. Some works are traditional, the products of an incredibly rich and deep culture that, despite the horrors of the 20^th century, remains alive today. Others are brand new, created by progressive artists eager to use a centuries-old language to address a host of contemporary issues. “Yiddishland” is truly a place without borders, a home for the heart and soul.
