RRH Wellness Wednesday: Sabrina Basile from Physical Therapy & Rehab: Urinary Health and Incontinence

RRH Wellness Wednesdays feature Rochester Regional clinicians and experts sharing their experiences and knowledge in an effort to improve your health and wellness, and to help connect you with specialists when you’re interested in individualized care. Check each week for the new topic!

Urinary incontinence or, leakage of urine you cannot control, affects up from 1/4 -1/3 of older American adults. For some, it affects their activities of daily living and takes a toll on psychological health. Incontinence is often that thing no one wants to talk about, and we at RRH understand that. Which is why we have our expert coming to talk to us about the facts and myths of urinary incontinence for both men and women. Many often believe their symptoms are “just a normal part of aging” or just something that women experience after having children. In this talk, Sabrina will be discussing the types of urinary incontinence, how urinary incontinence often has a musculoskeletal origin, and how you can treat (and even cure!) the leakage that you may experience with some simple interventions. Men and women welcome to attend!

Please join us in person in the Erdle Lounge from 12:15 – 1pm at the JCC.

We’d love to hear from you! Send your comments, suggestions and questions to RRHWellness@RochesterRegional.org
