The JCC, in partnership with The Opera Guild of Rochester, is pleased to bring you a “listen and lecture” series of three opera movies.

Our May opera is Rossinis La Cenerentola
This Italian version of Cinderella is a buffa comedy masterpiece, starring some of the true masters of the genre, with Cecelia Bartoli in the title role. If you are not familiar with it, be prepared for several departures from the traditional ? wizardly rather than fairy magic, a wicked step-father, and a bracelet instead of a slipper. About 156 minutes
