About our instructors, Richard and John:
Richard Collier-Morris. I have lived my entire life in the Rochester area. I have a degree in Elementary Education. I learned American Mah Jongg at the Brighton senior center in 2019. I fell in love with the game and have taught many family and friends to play. In the last year, I have taught many formal beginner classes.. I play mahj several times a week!  I look forward to continuing to teach American Mah Jongg for beginners at the JCC.
John Kinnicutt. I’ve enjoyed playing American Mah Jongg since learning the game at the Brighton Senior Center in 2019. For a few years, I taught Mah Jongg to numerous friends, neighbors, and former co-workers from Kodak and RIT. I’ve also taught more formal instruction.. After retiring, I’ve enjoyed the social connection of playing the game and fostering a local Mah Jongg community. My friend and co-teacher, Richard, and I will break the rules down so you can play with confidence and join the Mah Jongg community too.
