Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire

Documentary | 2024 | 90 min. | English | USA | Director: Oren Rudavsky

The William and Sheila Konar Spotlight Film

Elie Wiesel’s shattering 1958 memoir, Night, forever changed the way in which the Holocaust would be written. Born in Romania and a survivor of the camps, Wiesel became a highly honored author and extraordinarily eloquent speaker, often not in his native language. But despite his self-imposed role as one of the most public voices of Holocaust remembrance, he was essentially a private man. Using home movies and other material from his personal archives, the film reveals how much we didn’t know about him, giving us an intimate look at his relationships with close friends and family, including his wife, son, and grandchildren.

Mature content.
