Beyond Books
October’s book: The Correspondent by Virginia Evans
Sybil Van Antwerp is seventy-three, slowly losing her sight and always writing letters . . .
To her children. Her favorite authors. Her ex-sister-in-law. The journalist poking into her past.
Her doctor. Suitors. Kindly neighbors. The infuriating gardening club.
All receive Sybil’s witty, wise correspondence, rich with everyday concerns.
But there is one letter that she has never sent. It concerns the darkest period of her life. To post it, Sybil must find forgiveness within herself. The hardest letter to write is the one you would never dare to send.

About the group:
Beyond Books combines book club traditions (reading the book & book club discussion questions) with various videos that may include author interviews, time in history or other videos pertinent to the topic.
You don’t have to read the book to participate but we hope you do! Regardless, participate in the discussion, as you never know where it will lead.
The group is facilitated by JCC member Barbara Brachfeld. Attendees pick the books together.
The group meets the third Friday of most months.
Location: Conference Room 1, aka the Board Room
