RRH Wellness Wednesdays feature Rochester Regional clinicians and experts sharing their experiences and knowledge in an effort to improve your health and wellness, and to help connect you with specialists when you’re interested in individualized care. Check each week for the new topic!
Join us for an enlightening Wellness Wednesday session featuring Dr. Prad Phatak Medical Director, Precision Medicine and Heather Bacchetta, MBA, ACRP-CP, Director of Precision Medicine at Rochester Regional Health. Together, they will introduce the GenoWell Genetics Program, a voluntary community health research initiative offered in partnership with Helix, designed to deliver powerful and personalized genetic information to you and your healthcare provider.
During this session, they will explain how GenoWell works and how DNA can influence your health, your risks, and how conditions may be best treated. They’ll walk you through the no-cost genetic screening, what it includes, and how identifying genetic markers early, may help your care team provide tailored, preventative health recommendations.
Participants will learn:
- How DNA affects your long-term health
- What conditions you may be at increased risk for
- How genetic information can support personalized treatment
- How the GenoWell program protects your privacy through a secure, safeguarded genetic research database
- Insights into genetic risks such as certain cancers, heart disease, and other health traits
