RRH Wellness Wednesday – Physical Therapy Series – Core & Pilates
Wednesday, January 7 | 12:15–1:00 PM | JCC Auditorium A & Zoom
Join us for our January Wellness Wednesday, part of our monthly Physical Therapy Series held on the first Wednesday of every month at the JCC.
This month, we are pleased to welcome Caroline McBride, PT, DPT, OCS, a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with Rochester Regional Health. Caroline will lead an informative and approachable session focused on core strength and Pilates, with practical insights designed especially for older adults.
-
Why core strength matters as we age:
A strong core is essential for balance, posture, mobility, and injury prevention. It supports everyday movements such as walking, getting up from a chair, lifting groceries, and reducing the risk of falls and back pain. Maintaining core strength can help you stay independent, confident, and active as the years go by.
-
Why Pilates is so beneficial:
Pilates is a low-impact, gentle form of exercise that emphasises controlled movement, breathing, flexibility, and strength. It is particularly well suited for adults 65+, as it can be adapted for all fitness levels and physical abilities. Pilates helps improve balance, joint stability, posture, and overall body awareness — all while being kind to the joints.
Whether you’re new to Pilates or simply looking to move with greater ease and confidence, this session will offer valuable guidance you can use in everyday life.
All are welcome.
Come learn, move, and invest in your long-term strength and wellbeing.
