RRH Wellness Wednesday – TMJ with Margaret Fitzpatrick PT, DPT
Location: JCC Aud A (in person) and Zoom
Time: 12:15 –1 PM
Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Please consider joining us for our monthly RRH Physical Therapy series. We are pleased to welcome Margaret Fitzpatrick PT, DPT, who will be speaking about TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Health — a topic that affects many adults, especially as we age.

What is TMJ?

The temporomandibular joints are the hinges connecting your jaw to your skull. When these joints or surrounding muscles become irritated, it can lead to TMJ disorders.

Common signs of TMJ include:

  • Jaw pain or stiffness

  • Clicking or popping when opening the mouth

  • Headaches or facial pain

  • Ear discomfort or ringing

  • Difficulty chewing or opening the mouth fully

Why this matters for older adults:

Changes in posture, arthritis, dental work, stress, or nighttime teeth grinding can all contribute to TMJ symptoms. Many people live with discomfort without realizing help is available.

Benefits of attending:

  • Discover simple exercises and posture tips to relieve jaw tension

  • Understand when to seek professional care

  • Ask questions in a friendly, supportive environment

Whether you currently experience jaw discomfort or simply want to learn how to protect your joint health, this session will offer practical, easy-to-follow guidance.

Zoom is available for those who cannot attend in person.
