Wellness Wednesday – Genetics & Oncology
Join us for an informative program with Kim Provenzano, Nurse Practitioner with the Lipson Cancer Center, as we continue to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Kim will review the latest scientific developments in genetics and provide a background on chromosomes and genome sequencing. She will educate the group on the following:
• Genetic mutations their role in cancer care
• Inherited cancer syndromes and red flags for predisposition
• Genetics in the Ashkenazi Jewish population
• Role of genetic counseling, testing strategies, and management recommendations
Participants will gain an understanding of the latest up to date evidence-based practice in genetics and cancer care. Please consider joining us and learn how to decide whether a genetics consultation or testing may be right for you!
This program is free and open to the community. Participants do not have to be a member of the JCC to join in person or on Zoom.
