Wellness Wednesday – Plant Based BBQ-Themed Food Demo & Potluck
RRH Wellness Wednesdays feature Rochester Regional clinicians and experts sharing their experiences and knowledge in an effort to improve your health and wellness, and to help connect you with specialists when you’re interested in individualized care. Check each week for the new topic!
Join us for a fun and summery Wellness Wednesday at the JCC featuring a plant-based BBQ-themed food demonstration led by Wendy Cody, PA-C, a physician assistant and certified lifestyle medicine provider at RRH Family Medicine, Chili Health Center. Wendy will be preparing an oil-free version of Texas Caviar — a flavorful and health-conscious twist on a classic summer dish loaded with health benefits!
She’ll be joined by nurse Trudy Arsenault, certified lifestyle medicine practitioner, who will be creating a refreshing watermelon arugula salad that is known to be rich in antioxidants, helps improve blood flow and has glucosinolates – which may help protect against cancer by supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes. To top it off, enjoy a surprise dessert to finish the demo on a sweet note. Samples provided of each.
Stick around after the demo for our monthly Plant-Based Whole Food Potluck!
Everyone is welcome — just bring:
